Arabic is Oman’s official language, while English is widely used in business, tourism, healthcare, and the private sector.
Arabic is the official language and an important part of Oman’s national identity. Local Arabic varieties are heard in everyday life, while English is common in multinational workplaces, business meetings, retail, hotels, and much corporate correspondence.
Contracts, licences, and government procedures should not rely on English alone. Bilingual documents, reliable translation, and consistent spelling of personal and company names across passports and registrations prevent costly errors.
